Readers who find you on Goodreads, Instagram or your newsletter need one obvious place to buy your book. This page shows you how to add your PaperCraft book link to four places authors use most: Goodreads, Linktree, Chill Subs and Substack. Each set of steps is taken from that platform's own help pages, linked so you can check for changes. Platforms do update their menus, so if a button has moved, the linked help page will have the current version.
Step 0: Find your links
You'll use one or both of these:
- Your book page:
https://papercraftpublishers.com/product/your-book-slug. Open your book on our All Books page and copy the address from your browser. - Your author page:
https://papercraftpublishers.com/author/your-name. Find yourself on Our Authors.
Always paste the full address, starting with https://. If you have more than one book, link each book page separately, or use your author page as the single link.
Example link text
Short, plain labels work best. Pick one and use it everywhere:
- Order [Book Title] from PaperCraft Publishers
- Buy the paperback: [Book Title]
- [Book Title] (paperback, PaperCraft Publishers)
- All my books at PaperCraft Publishers (for your author page)
Use your real title. Don't stuff the label with keywords like "best book Pakistan buy online cheap". It reads badly and doesn't help anyone find you.
Goodreads
Goodreads lets published authors claim their author profile for free through the Goodreads Author Program. You'll need to do this on the desktop site. (Goodreads Author Program)
- Sign in to Goodreads, or create an account.
- Search for your book by ISBN, ASIN or title.
- On the book's page, click your author name, then scroll to the bottom of your author profile.
- Click "Is this you? Let us know!" and submit the application. Goodreads says it emails you when you're approved, within 2 business days. (Goodreads Author Program)
- Once you're approved, open your author profile on the desktop site, click Edit Author Profile, paste your PaperCraft book page (or author page) into the website field, and click Save Profile Settings.
Tip: search for your book by its ISBN so you land on the right edition.
Linktree
From Linktree's help centre (How to create a link on Linktree):
- In My Linktree, go to the Links page.
- Click + Add.
- Paste your PaperCraft book link.
- Add a Title. This text appears as the button, so use one of the labels above.
- Optionally, choose a thumbnail. Your book cover works well.
- Complete any extra link settings that appear.
- The link is now live on your Linktree.
If the link doesn't show up, Linktree suggests checking that it has a title, that its toggle is switched on (green), and that the URL starts with https://.
Tip: drag the book link to the top of your Linktree so it's the first button people see.
Chill Subs
Chill Subs writer profiles are meant to showcase your published stories, poems, books, bio and links. (Chill Subs: Using Chill Subs) Its help guide explains how to add published work (How to Add Published Work to Your Chill Subs Profile):
- Log in and go to your profile.
- Click Edit Profile.
- Find the Publications section and click + ADD.
- Fill in the form:
- Link: your PaperCraft book page.
- Title: your book's title.
- Magazine: start typing the publication name. If it isn't listed, type the full name and choose Add New +.
- Year: the year your book came out.
- Genre/Style: whatever fits your book.
- Click Save. The work then appears under Selected Work on your profile.
Substack
If you write a newsletter, put your book in two places.
In your navigation bar (Substack: organize the navigation bar):
- Go to your publication's Settings page and scroll to the Website section.
- In Navigation bar, select Add item.
- Under Title, enter the label (for example, "My book"), add your PaperCraft link, and select Add.
- To change or remove it later, select the three dots next to the link.
On your About page (Substack: edit your About page): in Settings → Website, select Edit next to About page. Then add a line about your book with the link, next to your bio.
Mention the book in your posts when it's relevant, too. A link in a launch post or an "about the book" post is perfectly natural.
A quick checklist
- I copied my exact book page (or author page) URL, starting with
https://. - I used the same plain link text everywhere.
- Goodreads: profile claimed, website added.
- Linktree: book link added and moved to the top.
- Chill Subs: book added under Publications.
- Substack: navigation bar link and About page mention.
